North Light

A creative and wellbeing hub at the heart of Brooke’s Mill

North Light is a vibrant place where creativity, movement and wellness come together.

It’s home to a café, rehabilitation centre, dance studio, art gallery and pottery school, plus spaces to meet – all designed to support a healthy, inspired way of living and connecting.

Eat at Sons of the North

Sons of the North provides a bright and welcoming space for connecting with colleagues, informal client meetings or just a moment to pause and reflect.

The atmosphere is refreshingly relaxed and unpretentious, with freshly brewed coffee and a varied breakfast, brunch and lunch menu.

Sons of the North take pride in using locally sourced ingredients, many of which are grown right here in the grounds of Brooke’s Mill.

Dance at Huddersfield Dance Academy

Established for over 40 years, Huddersfield Dance Academy offers professionally run dance classes for children aged 18 months up to adult.

Their timetable includes lessons in ballet, tap, modern and more. Classes are designed to build confidence, technique, and a love of dance in a structured and supportive environment.

They also provide performance opportunities and exam preparation for those wishing to progress further.

Move at North Light Physiotherapy

North Light Physiotherapy is a rehabilitation centre. Alongside sports injury and musculoskeletal services, they offer specialist services in neurological rehabilitation (e.g. MS, Parkinson’s, Stroke), obstetrics (pregnancy-related pelvic and back pain management), and orthopaedics (e.g. after sporting joint reconstructions, joint replacements and broken bones). They offer a home visit service for those who may be struggling after hospital discharge.

Wrapping around these core services are sports massage and personal training, alongside pilates (including antenatal pilates), yoga and older person’s strength and balance classes. They also bring in SG Active Podiatry, for all things foot-health related.
